Graph

See Graph - Data Workflows for information about the Graph Applet.

    Graph Canvas🔗

The Canvas is a drawing area for organizing and configuring Nodes, and monitoring their output.

There are three types of Nodes:

    • A Source Node is a Node that produces data and has no mandatory inputs. These nodes bring data into the graph. A graph can have multiple Source Nodes. At least one Source Node is required to run a graph.
      • Examples of Source Nodes include Read File, Read CSV, and Example Tabular Datasets.
    • A Process Node is a Node that processes data and has at least one mandatory input and one mandatory output. These nodes will automatically pause and remain paused if the output is not connected.
      • Examples of Process Nodes include Category Encoder, Aggregate, and Generate ID Column.
    • A Sink Node is a Node that consumes data and has no mandatory outputs. A graph can have multiple Sink Nodes.
      • Examples of Sink Nodes include Write File, Plotter, and Monitor.

    Node Library🔗

The Node Library is a panel that contains a list of all available Nodes. The Node Library can be opened by clicking the "Node Library" button in the top left corner of the Canvas.

Clicking a Node in the Node Library will add it to the Canvas.

Alternatively, double-clicking on the canvas will open a popup Node Library filtering only Source Nodes.

    Node🔗

Each Node has up to three sections:

    Info🔗

The Info is the main part of the node always visible on the graph. It can be dragged to move the node around the canvas. The top-right corner of the node has a toggle switch to pause or resume a node. While paused, the node will not process any data. Nodes may pause themselves in certain situations, such as when a mandatory output is not connected or further configuration is required. On the left side of the node are input ports, and on the right side are output ports.

    Manage🔗

The Manage section is a panel that contains details about the node as well as options for managing the node.

There are several tabs in the Manage section:

    • About: This tab contains information about the node, including its name, description, and version.
    • Documentation: When available, this tab contains details or links to the node's documentation.
    • Logs: Logs generated during initialization and operation of the node.
    • Configure: This tab contains options for configuring the node. The options available depend on the node type.

    Content🔗

Some nodes have a Content section that consists of runtime data generated by the node. For example, depending on the node, this section may contain a table, a plot, or other visualizations.
